I have a new crush.
on this movie, it completely turned on all my emotions that i had when I arrived the first time in China. Its imagery is surreal but so deeply chinese, something that probably doesn't exist any more but that you can still smell in the air in a day of light rain.

Just came back from a short trip to Shanghai, where I still had some boxes stored at some friends' place from when I was living there, waiting with patient for me to be pick them up.
Piles of books, clothes, small stuff and a whole bunch of printed pictures. Uploaded some of them on my flickr

Hutongs (simplified Chinese: 胡同; traditional Chinese: 衚衕; pinyin: hútòng) are narrow streets or alleys, most commonly associated with Beijing, China. In Beijing, hutongs are alleys formed by lines of siheyuan, traditional courtyard residences. Many neighbourhoods were formed by joining one siheyuan to another to form a hutong, and then joining one hutong to another. The word hutong is also used to refer to such neighbourhoods.

i had the pleasure to have a chat with Madi Ju, former partner of the My Little Dead Dick photodiary. for our nice surprise it came out we have some common friends both in Shanghai and Milan, small world.
Madi has some very interesting projects coming up, documenting life in some inner and unexpectable parts of China.

keep an eye on her!
